Family Health Center of Worcester is a full-service health center open to all residents of Worcester and surrounding areas.

We are an FTCA deemed, Federally Qualified Health Center whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of all residents in the Greater Worcester area, especially culturally diverse populations, by providing access to affordable, high quality, integrated, comprehensive, and respectful primary health care and social services, regardless of patients’ ability to pay.

Family Health Center offers family medicine, maternal child health, behavioral health, dentistry, nursing, a Walk In Center for urgent and primary care same-day visits, a low-cost pharmacy, lab, radiology, school-based health centers, refugee / immigrant health services, teen health clinic, ADHD clinic, INS clinic, an optical shop, flu vaccine clinics, health education and promotion, HIV counseling and testing, and public health programs for the early detection and prevention of disease. In addition to its main site at 26 Queen Street in Worcester, Family Health Center provides care seven school health centers in Worcester. Family Health Center administers the Women Infant Children (WIC) nutrition program at four sites in the Greater Worcester area.

We offer patient support and enabling services to help our patients fully access care, including health benefits advising and health insurance and food stamps enrollment assistance, medical interpretation in over 55 languages, care coordination for patients with chronic illness, patient advocacy and navigation services, homeless families case management services, Ryan White HIV/AIDS Early Intervention Services, a 24/7 telephone nursing line, financial assistance for prescription drugs, exercise and wellness programs, and community health education. Family Health Center’s quality, comprehensive services attract patients from every community in the Greater Worcester area and from throughout South Worcester County.  Many patients walk to our downtown locations from the inner-city neighborhoods of Worcester or arrive by bus, while other patients come from as far away as an hour’s drive by car to get their care at our health center.  We have cared for Worcester families for 45 years, and have been honored to deliver babies to moms who were also birthed by our providers.  You, our patients, are the Family Health Center family.

We provide family care, which means that we see all of our patients in the context of their family and community.  We care for patients of every age, including pregnant women, infants, toddlers, children, youth, teens, college students, adults, and seniors.  Our patients are multicultural and multilingual; we currently provide care in over 55 languages!

Family Health Center of Worcester, Inc. a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is deemed by the Bureau of Primary Health Care of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to be a federal employee for purposes of medical malpractice claims and, as such, qualified for protection under the Federal Tort Claims Act. According to the FTCA requirements, medical malpractice claims against the health center are reviewed and/or litigated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

 Family Health Center of Worcester, Inc. receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals. This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and is a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(h)-(n).”
