COVID-19 Vaccine Testimonials

“After the first shot I had soreness in my shoulder for a day, and after the second I had a day of body aches, mild headaches, chills and fatigue. I then felt fine and continue to do so!” – Dr. Phil Bolduc

“My decision on getting the COVID 19 vaccine was that it is a safer way to help build protection for myself. Also, if I get sick, I could spread the disease to family and others. Clinical trials of all vaccines must first show they are safe and effective before any vaccine can be authorized or approved for use. For this reason, I knew for a fact the COVID 19 vaccine was safe.”

“After getting the right education from the nurses at FHCW, I felt that I was making the right choice getting vaccinated. At FHCW the nurses and staff were friendly and provided all the answers that I need to know about the COVID 19 vaccine and the side effects.” – Adelina Vega, Administration

“Getting the Covid-19 vaccine was something I had been looking forward to for so long. Finally, to be able to get it, was such a big relief for me. Please get the vaccine, it will protect you, your family and our community. Let us get through this pandemic together by taking the vaccine. Stay safe, social distance, and wear your mask. Thank you”. –Albertha Adwetewa-Badu, RN

“I got the vaccine to do my part to help stop the spread, return to normalcy, see my patients in person, see my friends and family again in close proximity, go to concerts, see movies, etc. My experience getting the vaccine was really unremarkable. It was just like getting the flu shot. I had lots of hesitations and concerns early in the pandemic when we knew there would be an expedited path for this vaccine. My concerns were alleviated by reading all of the latest information I could find, as it was available, regarding the vaccine trials. ” – Julie Nason, LICSW

“My experience here at Family Health Center in getting the COVID vaccine was very good. I felt the process was well organized and efficient. Although I wasn’t warned about the possibility of experiencing side effects after the 2nd vaccine, I had already read about this and was prepared for it. When I saw that our HIV providers received the vaccine, I then had the confidence to receive it myself!” – Linda Guidi, HIV RN

“I got the COVID-19 vaccine because I believed it could help protect my body from the virus and protect others around me, including my family members, from getting infected with the virus, because I work in a health care setting. I had a very nice experience getting the vaccine. The staff at FHCW who are in charge of planning and administering the vaccine had been very kind to me and all my requests were met in a timely manner. I did not have any hesitations or concerns about the vaccine, in terms of the proposed efficacy of the vaccine and its anticipated side effects.” – Quang Le, Pharmacy

“My name is Joshua Bolduc, I have [worked] in healthcare for around 10 years. Having served in the military I have developed a sense of community and country. In my previous position I was manager of an Urgent Care Clinic that was acting as a COVID-19 test center. I saw first-hand how the spread moved through households and how sick people were getting. I need to get the vaccine not for myself, but so that I limit spread to the vulnerable population that I come into contact with even simply going to the grocery store. Working on the front line, I was exposed daily, it just so happens that I had COVID-19 as I received the vaccine, however, I feel that the vaccine boosted my immune response to the actual virus and limited my symptoms of the actual virus to just headaches and fatigue. At first I was hesitant about the vaccine, citing numerous conspiracy theories. However, I realized how absurd they were and I started to focus on the science. Two close friends explained to me the science and after hearing it from friends and scientists I knew I had to be an example for our community!” – Joshua Bolduc, Medical Services

“I got COVID-19 vaccine the first available to protect myself (age, underlying health issues), my family and everyone around me (community, neighbors, coworkers, fellow citizens while shopping or walking to the park). After the first dose I didn’t have any side effects at all, after the second dose some arm soreness, fatigue, and feeling mild dizzy for 2-3 days. I was excited and couldn’t wait longer, no hesitation and a lot information through media, articles, Family Health Center news.”

– Teuta Kodra, Interpreter Services
