Family Medicine Fellowships

Family Health Center of Worcester partners with UMass Medical School (UMMS) to offer the following fellowship training opportunities. Fellowship training is provided by Family Health Center clinicians who hold faculty appointments at UMMS and partner with the medical school to ensure a robust learning experience.

Community-Based HIV and Viral Hepatitis Fellowship

The Family Health Center of Worcester/ New England AIDS Education and Training Center/ University of Massachusetts Department of Family Medicine and Community Health HIV and Viral Hepatitis Fellowship seeks to address the National HIV/AIDS Strategy goals by training family and internal medicine primary care specialists to also become experts in HIV, Hepatitis B and C and latent tuberculosis, and to become educators and leaders in the care of these patients in community-based primary care settings. Family Medicine Global Health Fellowship

The Global Health Fellowship seeks to train family physicians to become leaders in global family medicine by training them to be clinicians, advocates, community health scholars and teachers locally and globally through equitable local-global partnerships. Fellows are trained to provide initial evaluations for newly arriving refugees and become primary care physicians for said refugee families. They work with a strong multidisciplinary team and learn to partner with community organizations to provide much needed wrap-around care. Primary Care Psychiatry

The Primary Care Psychiatry Fellowship is a partnership between Family Health Center of Worcester and the UMass Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, with support from the UMass Department of Psychiatry. It seeks to meet the growing need for improved access to high-quality outpatient psychiatric care, particularly within underserved and structurally-oppressed communities, by training family physicians to become leaders in the delivery of comprehensive, primary care-integrated physical and mental health care as clinicians, advocates, scholars, and teachers.
