Family Health Center of Worcester President & CEO Lou Brady Honored with Massachusetts Health Council 2025 Beacons for the Common Good Award

August 15, 2025 – Worcester, MA — Family Health Center of Worcester (FHCW) announced today that President and Chief Executive Officer, Louis Brady, MBA, has been named a 2025 Beacons for the Common Good Award Honoree by the Massachusetts Health Council (MHC). This recognition celebrates Brady’s unwavering leadership and decades-long commitment to advancing public health and health equity in Massachusetts and beyond.

The Beacons for the Common Good Awards recognize individuals and organizations whose leadership has made a lasting impact on the health of communities across the Commonwealth. Lou Brady joins a distinguished group of 2025 honorees, including Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell, Jessica Bartlett, Medical Reporter at the Boston Globe, Anna Maria Siega-Riz, PhD, Dean and Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences, Fenway Health, accepted by CEO Jordina Shanks, and the Massachusetts Medical Society, accepted by Executive Vice President Lois Dehls Cornell.

It reflects the dedication of more than 400 health care professionals at Family Health Center of Worcester who work tirelessly every day in pursuit of our mission of caring,” said Lou Brady, FHCW President and chief executive officer. “It’s an honor to be included among such distinguished awardees. I am grateful to the Massachusetts Health Council for their steadfast leadership in protecting and promoting the health and wellbeing of every resident of the Commonwealth for over a century.

Lou Brady has dedicated over 20 years to the community health center movement, serving in leadership roles across Massachusetts and Connecticut. Since joining FHCW, Lou has led the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), which serves more than 30,000 patients in 90 languages each year. Family Health Center of Worcester serves its community through 14 sites, including seven school-based health centers, five WIC locations, and Worcester Health Care for the Homeless.

“As MHC celebrates 105 years of impact, we applaud this year’s honorees for their unwavering leadership and commitment to safeguard and strengthen the health of all residents across every region of the Commonwealth,” Angela Ortiz, MHC chief executive officer said in the awards’ announcement. “From expanding and protecting sexual and reproductive rights, advancing health equity in underserved communities, reporting on the state of our health system, advocating to drive policy and systems change, and building our workforce development pipeline, we are proud to honor these change agents for their significant contributions towards access, equity and safety across the state, especially our most vulnerable and underserved communities.”

Mr. Brady will be recognized at the Massachusetts Health Council’s annual event, Honoring Beacons of the Common Good, on September 18, at Artists for Humanity in Boston, MA.
