Family Health Center of Worcester Receives National Quality Leader Award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration

Worcester, MA – Family Health Center of Worcester, Inc. was awarded today with a $166,405 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for achieving a high level of quality performance in 2017, including recognition as a National Quality Leader (Gold Award) and as a Health Center Quality Leader (Silver Award). Nationally, HRSA awarded $125 million to 1,352 community health centers across the U.S. for quality improvement.

Family Health Center of Worcester was recognized for achievements as a National Quality Leader (Gold Award), exceeding national clinical quality benchmarks, including Healthy People 2020 goals, for chronic disease management, preventive care, and/or perinatal/prenatal care. National Quality Leaders are among the top 2.6% of all HRSA-supported health centers nationally. Family Health Center was also recognized as a Health Center Quality Leader (Silver Award) for having achieved the best overall clinical outcomes, demonstrating high-quality across clinical operations. Health Center Quality Leaders are among the top 30% of all HRSA-supported health centers nationally.

Anthes, President and CEO of Family Health Center of Worcester; Jeffrey Beard, J.D., Regional Administrator, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration; John True, Treasurer, Board of Directors, Family Health Center of Worcester; Dr. Valerie Pietry, Chief Medical Officer, Family Health Center of Worcester; Afia Brayie Ossei, Patient, Family Health Center of Worcester; and Michael Curry, Esq., Senior Vice President, Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers.
