As the summer heats up, Family Health Center of Worcester is thrilled to announce our exciting Summer Series! These events are designed to show our appreciation for our patients and community by promoting health, wellness, and creativity through engaging activities. Mark your calendars for three fantastic events this summer as we celebrate together with fun, giveaways, and valuable health resources.
Additionally, we are excited to partner with the Regional Environmental Council as they host their weekly farmers market, offering fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables.
June 28th: Community Health Exhibition at City of Worcester Independence Day Celebration
Date: Friday, June 28, 2024
Location: Shrewsbury Street, Worcester
Partners: City of Worcester and Discover Central Massachusetts
Theme: Patriotic Paws – Celebrating Independence Day with a Teddy Bear Clinic.
Activities: Heartwarming teddy bear clinic, Health Benefits Advising, and distribution of first-aid kits.
Highlights: Our amazing volunteers brought joy to the community by hosting engaging activities and providing valuable health information.
The first event of our Summer Series was a huge success! We had an incredible time giving back to our community, and many parents and individuals were grateful for the first-aid kits and health advice provided.
July 25th: Champions of Health
Date: Thursday, July 25, 2024
Time: 1:00 – 3:00 PM
Location: Family Health Center of Worcester, 26 Queen Street, Worcester, MA 01610
Theme: Inspired by the spirit of the Olympics.
Activities: Fun, engaging, and kid-friendly activities that promote active participation and teamwork, including hula hoops, cornhole, and jump ropes.
Giveaways: Water bottles, stickers, and other items to promote healthy habits and keep participants hydrated.
Resources: Information about health center services, health benefits advising, and other essential health resources provided by our staff and volunteers.
Will feature participation from Polar Beverages!
“Champions of Health” is a celebration of wellness among our patients, encouraging healthy habits in a fun and supportive environment.
August 15th: Canvas of Care
Date: Thursday, August 15, 2024
Time: 1:00 – 3:00 PM
Location: Family Health Center of Worcester, 26 Queen Street, Worcester, MA 01610
Theme: Blending art and health to celebrate wellness through creative expression.
Activities: Face painting for children and adults, a community mural/art project, and various other art-related activities.
Giveaways: Health-themed coloring books, free water bottles, and sunscreen to encourage health and creativity while keeping participants healthy and hydrated.
